Last night, we found out that Rob's Uncle Jim passed away yesterday. We found out on July 27th that he had a large malignant tumor in his stomach that had been preventing him from eating for a long time. When he found out it was cancerous, he didn't want to do anything about it. Mind you, this is a man that had 4 teeth in his mouth, total! (2 on the top right and 2 on the bottom left--and he ate steak all the time!!!) He never wanted anything artificial in his body. He was notorious for wearing overalls with no shirt! A couple years ago, he started losing his eye sight to macular degeneration. He and his very devoted wife, Toots, moved to Tucson shortly after that to live with their daughter, Dorcas.
A couple weeks before they found out that Jim had cancer, they buried their son, Bill, unexpectedly. He was only 53.
Rob's Aunt Toots came out for Rob's mom's 75th birthday on Saturday. She was hoping to stay at our house Saturday night and go home Sunday morning, but something was tugging at her to go home Saturday night instead. About a month after burying her son, she is having to bury her husband.
